KECK, Annabelle G. October 13, 1931 – May 27, 2018 My mom always knew just when to leave the party, and her death was no exception. Annabelle, or Ann as she preferred to be called, passed away peacefully with me at her side on May 27th. Ann was born in Rochester, NY, where she met the love of her life, Herb Keck, in high school. She went to Geneseo State Teacher’s College while Herb was in the Korean War. They married when he returned and moved to Los Angeles, where they were both teachers at the time they had me (Anne L.). We moved to Sonoma County in 1968, where they fell in love with the old Druid’s Hall in Bodega, so they bought it and opened the venerable Wooden Duck Antique Shop – and sold antiques for over 40 years. Ann’s joy in antiques was matched only by her joy in helping children as a speech therapist at Twin Hills and Apple Blossom Schools. She was emotive and effusive, and loved by a large circle of family and friends. My father passed away in 2003, the same year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, and we know he was waiting for her. My thanks to the wonderful care mom received at Clover Senior Care in Santa Rosa and through hospice. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Memorial Hospice of Santa Rosa or the Bodega Volunteer Fire Dept. (17240 Bodega Hwy, Bodega, CA 94922, Attn: Fire Chief Ron Albini). A Life Celebration for Ann will be held on June 23rd, at 3 p.m., at St. Teresa’s Church in Bodega.
