RYNIEWICZ, Catherine “Kaye” March 1, 1927 – March 11, 2017 Kaye was born in England, Arkansas, daughter of Flora (Cook) Thompson and William Luther Thompson and the fourth of five siblings; William Jr., Ben “Tommy”, Al and Margaret Ann. The family moved to Fresno, CA in 1935 when Kaye was eight years old. She graduated from Fresno Tech H.S. in 1945 where she enjoyed drama, sports, and cheerleading. Her job at the theater began her lifelong love of old movies and movie stars. At the age of 18, Kaye visited Santa Cruz for the first time and fell in love with the sea. This was also where she met her first husband, William Wagner. They were married in 1946 and had one daughter, Sandra Kaye. As a professional woman, she owned a dress shop and later worked as a technical librarian and Safety & Security Administrator for Sylvania and Watkins Johnson. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Hilary Ryniewicz. They were married for 46 years, until his death in June of 2016. During retirement they traveled and she took art and sewing classes. Kaye is survived by her daughter, Sandy Ferrando and son-in-law John; grandchildren Jennifer Huber (Chris), Kimberley Givens (Jamie), Leigh Ann Abrose (Matt), and John Ferrando; step-children Marty Ryniewicz (Mary), Therese (Harvey), Mary (David); and eleven great-grandchildren whomshe was extremely proud of. Thank you to the caring staff at Kaiser and Santa Rosa Acute Care. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday March 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park, 1700 Pleasant Hill Road, Sebastopol, CA.
