Dan Gulbronsen
I was born, I blinked, and it was over; but boy, while blinking I had fun and worked hard. I vowed to beat cancer but in the end, my body couldn’t help me do it, but my spirit did. I was spirited away on Christmas day – at home – surrounded by family sharing my final breaths. My spirit was released from my body and I am now exploring the universe – fitting for someone who traveled the world – who didn’t like tour guides with their red flags – I am charting a new course. During my life, I shared my travels; shared my time; shared meals and favorite wines – and now it is my honor to toast each and every one of you and thank you for your love, fun times and caring. You know I loved the marriage of good food and wine and it is with this image I hope you carry me forward. The sharing of food and wine was a humble way to create life, happy times and occasions and appreciate life and all its musings. In true heartwarming spirit, I pray that the time each of you is given is filled by that which you’ve found worthy to believe and pursue. I toast you all! As Galileo once said, “Wine is sunlight held together by water – I have gone into the sunlight”. (Penned by Dan.)
Dan was preceded in death by his father and beloved mother, who tucked him in at night by saying, “Danny, you are a good boy and everyone loves you”, as well as his beloved canine mate, “Vinnie the Pooh” – his protector and best friend. He is survived by his other loyal friends: his wife, Jeanette, and medical service dog, Gino Massimo (all survivors of the Tubbs Fire in October of 2017). Blessings to his immediate family, whom he loved: Chris, Tina, Evan, Christopher, Paulette, Padty, (Penny and Sparky), Rick, Carson, Taylor, Cedar, Krissy, Cindy, Dave. (Penned by Jett.) Dan will be greatly missed.
Following his wishes, there was no service, but well-wishers are encouraged to share a glass of wine with those they love, and say a toast – to health, love and happiness. Send a smile his way.
