SONGER, David Lee A man was missed today – this 20th day of March, 2018. The breath went out of his body at approximately 2:45 in the afternoon. As his breath left, it wasn’t so much the breath that was missed as it was the intense love this man and his breath brought to the world. David Lee Songer was born on November 5th, 1951 in San Jose, California to parents Clark and Carol Songer. Though he gave his parents some ‘trouble,’ they managed to instill in him a precious gift. A gift he shared with man – the gift of love. Cut short prematurely with what feels like too few years to share it. Oh, but if the story ended there. It doesn’t. It lives on in his son, Scott David Songer (born July 2, 1980), and his daughter, Mynda Marie Songer (born March 21, 1984) that he and his amazing wife, Sandra Kay Songer (married May 22, 1976) had together. They loved each other fiercely and unconditionally. It lives on in the love they pass to others in this world. It lives on in the way Scott has taught troubled teens how to make sense of their lives and his love of nature. Most importantly, it lives on in the amazing, patient, and consistent love Mynda shows to her awesome daughter, Evelyn Rae Clifton (born January 14, 2016) with her compassionate and incredible husband Bryan Clifton. Evelyn – Evie – already exudes the love passed from her grandfather as she explores the world around her. Yes, his presence on this earth will be missed. But what is more important is what he gave to it – Love. A private service was held.
