WASHINGTON, Jacqualin (Jacki) December 19, 1932 – March 6, 2017 At 8:37am on March 6th, 2017, Jacki Washington was completely healed and went home to be with the Lord. She was 84. After a long, brave fight, Jacki succumbed to illnesses initiated by a fall at her home. During her courageous battle, Jacki’s inherent strength of character was on full display. Jacki’s childhood was spent traveling the Midwest, as her father, Glen Kaiser, was a regional representative for E.R. Squibb & Co., a major pharmaceutical manufacturer. In 1946, Jacki finally got a chance to settle down in Enid, Oklahoma. Immediately, she was the center of attraction at Emerson Jr. High. This ability to “draw a crowd” was an attribute that was to remain with Jacki the rest of her life. She truly did “light up the room”. She graduated from Enid High School with honors while meeting her husband-to-be, Gene Washington. Jacki attended Phillips University in Enid. The challenges of being an Air Force wife combined with starting to raise a family were met with the usual nurturing and attention to detail that was to become a trademark of Jacki’s character. As her family grew to eventually include four boys, Jacki’s time allocations became more challenging as she handled trips to the doctor (mostly unscheduled – stitches mainly), with ski lessons/outings, hockey games and corporate dinners. She became equally at ease with each – another true testament to her character. Not only did Jacki prove herself in strong supporting roles, she was a stellar performer in her own right. She was the accountant for a small chemical company, assistant to the President of the Marin Medical Society, and the Office Manager of a well-known law firm in San Francisco. In addition she became a “blue run” skier, an above-average tennis player, a very skillful bridge player (which she hosted until late last year) and a county fair award-winning landscape painter! “Behind every man striving to be successful, if he is to meet his goals, he will have a successful woman insuring the success of their endeavor”. Such was Jacki’s destiny. To those who knew Jacki in a “company” environment, it was well known that her ability to put her guests at ease, converse on many topics and set a fine table placed her in the upper echelon of those categories. It made no difference whether her guests were Dearborn, MI salesmen or Margot and Ross Perot, she was comfortable, so they were comfortable. Every guy should be so lucky. Jacki is survived by her friend of 70 years, Gene of Novato, CA, and four sons, Robert Todd of Discovery Bay, CA, James Allen of Rohnert Park, CA, Darren Scott and Steven Lee of Santa Rosa, CA; Robert’s wife, Elaine and their children Caitlyn and Coltyn and Jacki’s granddaughter Kierstyn, husband Victor, their son Kaleb and Baby Girl on the way; James’ wife, Deanna and their children Danelle, Devon, Andrew, Jacob and grandson Dominic; Darren and his wife Darlene and their children Clint and Casie. Services will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park, 1700 Pleasant Hill Road, Sebastopol, CA followed by Reception at 1 p.m. at Rancho Grande Mobile Home Park, 5099 Snyder Lane Rohnert Park, CA 94928 Memorial donations may be made in Jacki’s name to: Rohnert Park Animal Shelter, 301 J.
