MOLNAR III, John John Molnar, III, age 81, passed away at his home in Sebastopol on February 13, 2017. He was born in New England, North Dakota in 1935, one of the nine children of John and Christina Molnar II. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharlyn; two sons, John IV, and Donny (Kim); grandchildren, Jonathan, Erik, Ashly, and Katherine Molnar; and sisters, Arlene and Pauline. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lorraine, Marcus, Marguerite, Frances, and Carl. John entered the Navy in 1954 and retired from the Air Force in 1975. John retired as the Assistant Building Superintendent for the County of Sonoma after 18 years in 1994. John was an active Mason for many years. He “was raised” a Mason in Aviano Lodge #643 Italy 1968; President of the Giuseppe Garibaldi Square and Compass Club. He received 32rd Scottish Rite Degree at the Valley of Germany in 1970 and then as member in the Valley of Santa Rosa earned the Knight Commander of the Court of Honour 32nd Degree in 1999 and Inspector General Honorary of the 33rd Degree in 2003. He was Master of Lafayette Lodge Sebastopol in 2001, 2002. For the Scottish Rite Lodge, Santa Rosa, he held many positions including Master of all bodies as well as Master for 18th deg for 33 years. He was Member of: Aahmes Temple; s/c Shrine Club; s/c Purveyors; s/c Rod & Gun Club; Sons in Retirement; Russian River Sportsmen Club; CA Masonic funeral services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Scottish Rite Temple, 600 Acacia Ln, Santa Rosa, CA 95409. A viewing will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24th at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave. Santa Rosa. A private burial will take place at Pleasant Hills Cemetery, Sebastopol. Donations are directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children – Northern California.
