KOENIGSHOFER, Oso (George) June 23, 1956 – January 11, 2018 Oso Koenigshofer, age 61, succumbed to cancer on January 11th, 2018, after a long, courageous stand. He died at home while under the loving care of his wife Michelle Clarke and their daughter Lauren. In addition to Michelle and Lauren, Oso is survived by his sister Melinda (Mindy) Koenigshofer, and his brothers Ken, Eric, and John Koenigshofer. Oso was the fourth son and fifth child of the late George and Della (Dodrill) Koenigshofer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and an extended family reaching from California to Nebraska, Minnesota and North Carolina. Oso was a general contractor, a developer, and a master builder. He and his family lived in their Forestville home, which he designed and built with his own hands. Dozens, if not hundreds of people live in houses he restored or imagined and built from ground up, including many he worked on for Habitat for Humanity. Oso was a skilled, playful musician with a background in choral music, piano and trombone. He was a traveler, a juggler, a punster, and an exceptional gardener, greeting all tasks with gregarious enthusiasm. Oso loved his dogs, friends and family passionately. He held them with his warm heart, and loud laughter. His frequent invite to all was, “Come on, party at my house!” His ‘joie de vivre’ will be deeply missed. There will be no service. The family will hold a private memorial and celebrate Oso at a date to be determined.
